Persistency In Seeking For a Spiritual Setting

Dear Friend,

Picture this: You have a pressing issue that needs God’s urgent intervention, having seek the face of the Lord, you keep hoping and believing and eventually, all you get is nothing.

Is is that you need to do more?

I mean : The Bible says
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to
you. Matt 7:7 (NIV)

I put it to you, sometimes, a single knock will not get the door open. You have knock contendly till you attract a level of grace in the spirit that will force the door open.

New Living Translation puts it correctly:

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find.
Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”

If I should stop here, Isaiah 62:6,7 can perfectly summarize my message he says:

“…You who call on the LORD shall take no rest for yourselves, (7) nor give Him any rest until He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.

Your hunger so often is your CALL in the realm of the spirit. It vetos the depth of your urgency and understanding of the systems of God.

The Bible says in James 5:16 that “… The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and
made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]. (Amplified).

Highlight the word: “heartfelt and persistent“.

Elijah, the Prophet understood this mystery this is why he was able to lock heaven and put it keys in his pocket. James captures the scenerio thus:

“Elijah was just a man like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.”

See the word? Earnestly.

Surprisingly, when the period of three years was over, and he went to pray for rain, a single prayer of his did not unlock the floodgate of heaven. The scripture records that he prayed 7 good times. Look at the scripture:

“And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot , and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.” 1 Kings 18:44 (KJV)

Daniel also understand this mystery that was why he was able to wait at the place of prayer till heavens was compelled to fight a battle in order to deliver Daniel’s message.

Finally, here’s a piece of advice I stumble upon at a crucial point in my spiritual life. “The man who will truly know God must give time to him. Aw Tozer.

Now, before you go, can you ask the Lord to grant you the grace to tarry till you bear much fruit in your Christian Life. Amen.

God bless you.
